In the paper are dealt with specific features of folk tales, deep-layer causes for folk tales to vigorously develop in contemporary China and their role in the development of literature and society.It is considered that in contemporary China folk tales are in the flourishing but embarrassed state, which should be attached attention to and studied by literature workers.
