随着多媒体网络技术引进大学英语教学，传统的教学模式正面临极大的冲击。文章分析了对传统教学模式形成挑战的种种因素。在列举了多媒体教学的优点和存在的问题的基础上，总结了一个理想的基于多媒体网络的人机结合的教学模式。文章认为这种多媒体教学模式不仅仅是运用了先进技术手段，提高了教学效率，更重要的是改变了以教师为中心的传统教学模式，形成了以学生为中心的个性化学习方式。这对于提高学生应用语言的能力和自主学习能力，尤其是扩大教学规模，解决师资不足的问题，保证我国高等教育大众化的实现有着极其重要的意义。

The introduction of multimedia technology into college English teaching has posed a great challenge to the traditional teacher-centered method. The paper makes an analysis of some important changes in recent years that necessitate the reform of the traditional methodology. On the basis of the illustration of the advantages as well as the weaknesses of multimedia teaching, the paper provides an ideal model of college English teaching. It believes that the significance transcends the mere application of advanced technology and the increase of the teaching efficiency. It signifies the transformation of the traditional teacher-centered model to the learner-centered model which benefits the development of not only the students' ability of using English but also their autonomy of learning. Most significantly, it guarantees the rapid development of higher education.
