民族主义是当代世界最重要的意识形态之一 ,它影响了其他意识形态。近代中国民族主义的兴起 ,以及它和民主、现代化的关系 ,都引起了学者的关注和争论。本文尝试分析近代中国民族主义在产生时的复杂情景 ,并比较分析它和民主在近代中国命运的不同 ,从而影响了中国的现代化进程。什么样的民族主义是较为合理的 ,也许民族主义和民主的结合是可行之路。

Nationalism is one of the most important ideologies in the contemporary world, having influenced other ideologies. The rise of modern Chinese nationalism and its relation with democracy and modernization have absorbed the concerns and debates of many scholars. This paper tries to analyze the complex situation when modern Chinese nationalism emerged, and has compared and analyzed its difference in fate from democracy in modern China and its influence on China's modernization. What nationalism is proper? Maybe nationalism combined with democracy is the favourable route.
