Preparatory examination is not only an investigative activity but also a profound art. During the process of preparatory examination, it is of great importance both in theory and in practice regarding how to grasp a criminal's psychology and apply suitable tactics so that more concealed crimes may be dug out and the case facts can be ascertained without any criminal being at large and at the same time with the human rights being better protected. This article just summarizes several common mental phenomena of the criminals in the course of preparatory examination and puts forward some related countermeasures.
