A Review of "Qu", an Aesthetic Category of Literary Criticism in Ming Dynasty

"趣"是我国古代文论的重要审美范畴,它在明代文论视野中首次得到多视域展开,表现为:在诗论中得到进一步拓展和深化;在曲论、词论及小说理论中也得到运用或阐说。这标示出了"趣"作为我国古代文论审美范畴的盛兴。

As an important aesthetic category in classical Chinese theories of literary criticism, 'Qu' gained strong momentum in a wide scope of literary criticism during the Ming Dynasty. Among other things, it was further expanded and deepened in poetics, and was applied or illustrated in theories covering drama, poetry and fiction. All these mark the boom of 'Qu' as an esthetic category of classical Chinese literary criticism.
