摘要
自由教育是欧洲教育的传统,至中世纪成为大学的理念。但随着人类文明的不断进步,大学功能的日益发达,作为一种高等教育的哲学理念———自由教育曾受到科学教育、专业教育的非难和挑战,其核心是高等教育领域的"人学"与"科学"之争。即教育的终极关怀是人本身还是人的工具价值问题。本文通过考察自由教育的历史源流、内涵的嬗变,分析其复归的合理性,构建现代大学理念,超越自由教育的传统。
Liberal educationis the tradition of European Education and had become the ideas of university by the middle ages.But with the advance of human civilization and the development of the function of universities,liberal education as a philosophy idea of higher education has encountered reproach and challenge from scientific education and professional education,the core of which is the struggel between 'anthropology'and'science'.Whether the ultimate solicitude of education is the human being itself or the human being's instrumental value is the question.This paper analyzes the reasonableness of recurrence of liberal education by observing its hitorical origins and gradual changes of connotations so as to construct ideas of modern universities and further to transcend the tradition of liberal education.
