Influenced and limited by various subjective and objective factors, Chiang Kai-shek's monocracy reflected its dynamic characteristics in different historical periods. From 1927 to 1938, the restrictive factors inside the KMT played a major role, and so did such factors outside the KMT from 1938 to 1947. During the constitutional government period from 1947 to 1949, Chiang's autocratic rule was restricted by comprehensive factors from different sides.
