Fantasticality:the Important Concept in Ancient Chinese Fictions

历代中国小说理论从很多方面探讨小说的审美特征 ,但是忽略了小说带有根本性特征的审美特点 :“奇”。本文试图寻找中国古代小说理论史中对“奇”的使用和论述 ,尝试着对“奇”定义 ,并探讨中国古代小说的根本审美特征。

In the theory of the novel through out Chinese history, there have been discussions on the esthetic features, but the basic esthetic feature inherent in fictions,i.e. fantasticality, has been neglected. This paper tries to seek for the application of and comments on fantasticality in the ancient Chinese theory of the novel, attempts to define fantasticality and discusses the basic esthetic features of the ancient Chinese fictions.
