The level of development of modern enterprises of national capital is the indication of civilization of the area. A comparison of such enterprises in Guizhou with those in the coastal areas of China shows the different characteristics in their respective capital investment,geographical environment,mode of management,structure of personnel quality,the influence of the amount of opium trading,culture of the enterprise,etc. The study of these characteristics is to reveal the lag and difficulty for the development of Guizhou's modern enterprises of national capital and the cause for the slow modernization of the province.
