文献类电子资源元数据发展浅议

Study on the Development of Electronic Resource Metadata

通过分析Dublin Core元数据的局限性和目前我国关于文献类电子资源元数据的研究与应用现状,探讨了有效描述文献类电子资源的元数据新格式:DC-MARC。

The development of Dublin Core solved effectively a series of problems of description, locating, access, evaluation and selection of information resources on the network. However, DC still has restrictions in terms of the information orgization. This paper firstly analyses the restriction of DC when applied to describing the literal electronic resources and then reviews the current status of electronic resources metadata studies and applications in China. It also discusses a new metadata format describing electronic resources which is called DC-MARC.
