There are striking differences in the incidence of prostate cancer among different racial groups and different geographic regions in the world.The causes of these differences are presum-ably environmental and genetic factors.Studies demonstrated that there is a wide variation of ge-netic polymorphisms of genes,which could be genetic factor of different susceptibility to diseases among different ethnic groups.The relationship between prostate cancer risk and genetic polymor-phisms of genes involved in androgen biosynthesis and metabolism pathway is discussed in pre-sent review.
