This paper introduces the development process and new characteristics of CAD, expounds the current situation of CAD in China and its application in farm machinery, and points out the problems existing in agricultural machinery CAD in China. Development strategies of farm machinery CAD in China are set forth as follows: Agricultural machinery CAD should be developed both facing the depth and width; General use platform of farm machinery CAD must be developed as soon as possible; We must spot the direction, follow in order and advance step by step; Development conditions of CAD must be created according to the requirement of CAD.
