Digital monitoring system based on MPEG-4

介绍了一种基于MPEG-4的数字监控系统的系统构成和软件实现方法。该系统采用MPEG-4标准压缩方法,比较其他压缩方法其压缩比更大。通过对MPEG压缩原理的分析,比较了MPEG-1、MPEG-2和MPEG-4三种标准,说明MPEG-4采用视频对象VO的概念进行编码,更适合远程数字监控。

This paper introduces a digital monitoring system based on MPEG-4. It is composed of software and hardware. This system compresses the video accroding to MPEG-4 standard. Application results show that the system has higher compression ratio more than other system's. This paper compares the MPEG-1, MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 standards, then explains the MPEG-4 technology which is more suitable for the remote digital monitoring system by using the video object (VO).
