本文探讨如何通过机读语料库以定量和定性方法相结合的原则分析词语的搭配行为,揭示出词语内含的超越单个词语界限的联想意义——语义韵律,并通过分析语义韵律在实际语言中的运用实例来探讨它对词典编撰、语用学、认知语言学、翻译、汉语语料库等相关领域的启示。
The semantic prosody refers to the collocative meaning of a word. It can be captured by observing its collocates in concordancing lines. The present paper discusses an integrated approach of using both quantitative and qualitative methodology in such investigation. Also discussed are some potential applications of semantic prosody in such related fields as dictionary compilation, pragmatics, cognitive linguistics, and translation.
