英汉两种语言的标点符号,既有相同之处,又有不同之点.英译汉时如果照搬标点,轻则使译文意思表达不清楚,重则可能导致科技内容的错误.所以,在将科技英语译成汉语时,有的标点应作适当的变动,使之符合汉语的习惯.只有这样,才能使译文简洁明确,准确表达原意.

Punctuation marks are both identical and different in English and Chinese. Transplanting literally the punctuation marks from English to its Chinese translation will make the translation ambiguous or even wrong. Therefore proper changes on punctuation marks should be made in the process of translation. Only in so doing the translated version can be concise, clear and accurate.
