孟子“民本”思想及其现代意义

Mencius “people-oriented” Idea and Its Modern Significance

"民本"一词最早来源于《尚书·五子之歌》的"民为邦本,本固邦宁"及《春秋榖梁传》的"民者君之本也"等提法,在经历了春秋时期的发展之后,重民观念逐步为社会所接受,成为中国古代最为重要的传统价值观念之一。战国时代,孟子更是将民的地位提高到了一个前所未有的高度,在他的思想中,对民的价值的肯定、对民地位与作用的高扬以及民贵君轻的阐述,成为先秦"民本"思想发展的最高峰。直至今日,民本观念依然不失其时代性,这是因为民心的向背、人民对于政治统治的认同直接关系到政治统治基础的稳固,同时,孟子的"民本"思想也对我国民主政治的发展具有重要的借鉴意义。

The term'people-oriented'was first proposed in The Song of Shangshu·The song of the five sons,'the people are the foundation of the state,which is solid and peaceful'and'the foundation of the king of the people'in the biography of GuLiang in the Spring and Autumn Period.After the development of the Spring and Autumn Period,the concept of valuing the people was gradually accepted by the society and became one of the most important traditional values in ancient China.In the Warring States Period,Mencius raised the status of the people to an unprecedented height.In his thought,the affirmation of the value of the people,the promotion of the status and role of the people,and the elaboration of the importance of the people and the light of the king became the peak of the development of the Pre-Qin'people-oriented'thought.Up to now,the concept of'people-oriented'has not lost its epochal character,which is because of the opposition of the people.And their recognition of political rules are directly related to the stability of political rule foundation.Meanwhile,Mencius’'people-oriented'thought also has important reference significance for the development of China’s democratic politics.
