Cultural Effects in the Process of Modernization in Ethnic Area

文化效应是影响民族地区现代化进程不可忽视的因素。文化的发展具有历史的继承性、民族性和地域性,经济的发展也有着与之相类似的特征。民族地区在现代化进程中既要尊重传统民族文化,又不能为其所束缚,要充分利用民族文化的多样性,最大限度地为各民族提供充分的发展机会与广阔的发展空间,确保各民族现代化道路选择的真实性,这是加速推进民族地区现代化进程必须加以重视的问题。

Cultural effect is an important factor, which influences modernization of ethnic areas. The development of culture reflects historic succession, features of nationalities and regions; and the development of economy also shows corresponding features. In the process of modernization the ethnic areas should not only respect traditional ethnic culture, but also be free from being confined to it, and make most of diversity of ethnic cultures to provide developing opportunities and space for all nationalities, thus to guarantee a correct way of ethnic modernization. Enough attention should be paid to these issues so as to speed modernization of the ethnic areas.
