《大元故京兆知府刘侯神道碑》记录了金元时期关中人刘尚的人生轨迹,其中包含诸多金元地理信息。如:金末陕西地区出现的红巾寇赵斌起义,金末陕西安抚使、总帅设置情况,金元之际降蒙汉族地主武装头目的安置变化,蒙元伐宋,平定浑都海、阿蓝答儿叛乱,以及蒙元陕西、西南部分地方建置等均有涉及,对于相关史料和研究有一定的佐证、补益价值。
