Angles of Regional Culture and the Research of Chinese Modern Literature

真正从地域文化的角度来研究现代文学 ,是从 2 0世纪 90年代开始的。大量地区性的现代文学史料的整理出版 ,不仅为这种研究提供了可能 ,而且本身就包含着研究的眼光。《二十世纪中国文学与区域文化丛书》集中体现了这方面的研究成果。但总的说来 ,从地域文化的角度研究现代文学的努力 ,仍未摆脱建构现代性大叙事的诱惑 ,其研究潜力因此受到了根本性的限制。将地域文化视角转化为对话性的解构力量 ,反思现代性大叙事对差异性的压抑 ,是激活其研究潜力的关键 ,目前已有一些这方面的研究成果出现。

The viewpoints of regional culture were introduced into the field of Chinese modern literature just in the 1990s. The great number of collections and publications of historical documents of regional modern literature not only pave the way for this kind of researches but rightly the research itself. The Series of Regional Culture and 20th Century Chinese Literature is viewed as the most important research findings in this area. Nevertheless, those researches are generally inclined to construct grand-narratives of 20th century Chinese literature, the possibilities of the researches were limited accordingly. The crux of making an active use of regional culture's perspectives for modern literature research is to regard the angles of regional culture as a dialogue way of deconstruction so as to self-question modern grand-narratives with its lack of distinctions.
