摘要
本文对北京居庸关云台回鹘文《建塔功德记》偈语所见uday一词进行了细致的考证,指出该词指代的当为文殊菩萨道场五台山。敦煌吐鲁番出土的回鹘文文献也实证了文殊信仰曾在回鹘中的流行。
It puzzles scholars for a long time how to explain the meaning of Uighur word uday in inscription at the Pass Ju-yong, in Beijing carved in 1342. In the present paper, it is proposed that the word uday is corresponding to the Mt. Wutai located in northeast Shanxi Province supposed as residence of Manjusri Bodhisattva by Chinese Buddhists. Boddisattva was worshiped by the Uighur Buddhists in the Yuan Dynasty.
