香叶天竺葵越夏栽培生理研究初步报告

A preliminary study on the summer cultivation of The Rose Geranium(Pelagonium graveolens L'Her.)

本文研究了香叶在厦门的越夏栽培生理问题,发现香叶夏季栽培高温暴雨引起的突然死亡的主要原因,在于暴雨和强风引起的机械损伤和伴随而来的根茎间水分供求的失调,然后引起植株强烈的灼伤,产生永久萎蔫而致死,研究中并肯定了高温、强光对香叶生长的抑制作用,这种作用和紫外光的强度有特殊的关系,试验证明,紫外光对叶绿素有很强的破坏作用;1％的硫酸铜对保持高温,强光下的叶绿素的确定性有积极意义。 在研究了栽培过程中引起不良影响的因素后,找到了良好的栽培管理、充足施肥和适时灌溉对保证香叶越夏有积极意义,通过研究,栽培的香叶已经成批的在大田条件下安全越夏,而且生长茂盛,可以肯定,在厦门进行香叶越夏栽培,防止衰枯和死亡是完全有可能的。

The result of the present investigation shows that the sudden wilting or death of the Rose geranium in summer in South China is mainly due to the mechanical injury fo its root system from the storms prevailing at this season. The water balance of the plant is then destroyed, its leaves are severely wilted and death may follow. In addition, the growth of the plant is also inhibited by the higher temperature, with the increase of ultra-violet rays in summer, the chlorophyll content of the leaves decreases proportionately. However, good results have been obtained, when the leaves were sprayed with 1％ CuSO_4 solution. The growth of plants in the field may also be well renewed during the summer period when an adequate amount of fertilizer and irrigation was supplied.
