从《长干行》看庞德英译汉诗的意象派风格

Ezra Pound's Imagist Style in Translating a Chinese Poem as Seen from The River-Merchant's Wife:A Letter

人们对意象主义有很大的好奇心。艾兹拉·庞德是意象运动的发起人。意象派对诗歌的要求是 :诗歌必须凝缩、简练、含蓄。不必过多追求形式与韵律。他们着重用视觉意象引起联想 ,表达那一瞬间的真实感受。 The River-Merchant's Wife:A L etter就是庞德用意象派风格翻译的一首李白的诗《长干行》。本文试图通过解读庞德译诗《长干行》,对比西方意象派与中国诗歌的美感经验的相似之处 ,解读意象派 ,并说明庞德对汉诗英译的特殊贡献。

Imagism has been a great attraction to its readers. Ezra Pound is the pioneer of the Imagist Movement in the western world. Imagism requires that poems should be condensed, brief and implicit rather than overemphasize the form and rhyme; and that poems should use images to arouse reader's associations so that the actual experience of the moment can be expressed. The River-Merchant's Wife: A Letter is a translation of Li Bai's poem (Chang-gan-xing) by Pound of imagist style. By analyzing Pound's version of the Tang poem, this paper seeks to find the common aesthetic experience between the western imagism and the Chinese traditional poems, to further interpret imagism, and to reveal Pound's special contribution to the English translation of Chinese poems.
