对社会主义的认识也要与时俱进,不同时期有不同的认识。19世纪中叶,马克思、恩格斯对社会主义进行了科学的预测,描绘出未来社会的三大基本经济特征是公有制、计划经济、按劳分配;20世纪中叶,毛泽东对社会主义的实践,因忽视了现实社会主义的前提和基础,导致在社会主义建设初期走了弯路;20世纪80年代,邓小平坚持了与时俱进的精神,不断开拓创新,把对社会主义的认识提高到一个新的水平。

The cognition of socialism also should make progress with times, and the cognition vary its contents during different periods. In the middle of the 19th century, Marx and Engels predicted the socialism scientifically and they described the basic economic characteristics of the future society like this; a public ownership, planned economy and distribution according to work. At the middle of the 20th century, Mao Zedong's research to the socialism, because of neglecting the premise and base of the realization of socialism, made we ever walked in a curved road in the early stage of the socialism development. In 1980s, Deng Xiaoping insists in the 'progress with times', expanding and creating continuously, and improve the cognition of the socialism to a new level.
