Confronted with the war threat of the hostile countries in the world after the founding of new China, CPC members, with Mao Zedong as their representative, analyzed objectively the international and domestic situation, probed gravely into the characteristics and rules of the modern war, and constituted an active and practical national defense strategy, which smashed the armed provocation of the hostile countries in the world and achieved national security. This is the development of Mao Zedong military thought in the new historical trend.
