上帝崇拜与祖先崇拜

Worship of the God and Worship of Ancestors:

上帝崇拜是犹太-基督教信仰的基本特征,祖先崇拜是中国民间信仰的主要形式。中国古人的祭天与祀祖是密切地缠裹在一起的。基督教在认同中国人祭天的同时,却反对中国人祀祖,这岂不是一种悖论。所以,如果单从宗教的祭祀层面上看,古代儒家的上帝观与基督教的上帝观是很难调和的。

God worship is the essential characteristic of Judaism and the Christian church, and ancestry worship is the chief form of belief among the Chinese people. Worship heaven and worship ancestors were mixed together in ancient China. Isn't it a paradox that the Christians approve the heaven worshiping of the Chinese people while opposing their ancestor worship at the same time? Therefore, viewed solely from the religious ceremonies to offer sacrifices to God or to ancestors, the Confucian idea of God in ancient China is hardly compatible with that of the Christians.
