Objective To investigate the effect of nifedipine sustained-release tablets and irbesartan tablets on patients with essential hypertension and type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2 DM).Methods The clinical data of 112 patients with hypertension and T2 DM treated in a community service center from October 2017 to September 2018 were retrospectively analyzed.According to the different drug regimen, they were divided into a trial group(nifedipine sustained-release tablets and irbesartan,56 cases)and a control group(nifedipine sustained-release tablets,56 cases). The blood pressure and renal function indexes[blood urea nitrogen(BUN)],urinary albumin excretion ratio(UAER),microalbuminuria(mAlb)]were observed and compared between two groups. Results Before the treatment, there were no significant differences in blood pressure, and BUN,UAER and mAlb levels between two groups(P>0.05).After 3 months of the treatment, the blood pressure, and UAER and mAlb levels in the trial group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The combined therapy of nifedipine and irbesartan in patients with hypertension and T2 DM can effectively control the blood pressure and reduce the damage of renal function.
