The History and the Characteristics of the CPC’s Political Construction since the Founding of the People’s Republic of China 70 Years Ago

重视党的政治建设是中国共产党的优良传统和宝贵经验。1949年中华人民共和国成立后,党所处的历史方位发生了变化,由此开启了执政党建设的伟大历程。70年来,党围绕不同历史时期的中心任务所进行的政治建设,经历了奠定基础、曲折前行、全面推进、全面加强的演进过程,呈现出若干鲜明特点,即:党的政治建设在党的建设总体布局中的地位与党对'政治建设'概念的解读和认知角度密切相关,但无论是否有明确表述,党的政治建设总会贯穿其中;党的政治建设内容与党和国家的中心任务密切相关,正确制定和贯彻党的政治路线始终是党的政治建设的重要内容;党的政治建设效果与党的领导正确与否密切相关,维护党中央的权威和集中统一领导始终是党的政治建设的首要任务。

The CPC has a tradition of attaching importance to its political construction.With the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949,the historical position of the Party changed,and it therefrom started the great historical process of the construction as the ruling Party.Over the past 70 years,the Party’s political construction,based on the central task of different historical periods,has been changing,from laying a solid foundation,zigzagging forward,to comprehensively promoting and strengthening political construction.This process has presented several distinctive characteristics.First,the position of the Party’s political construction in the overall layout of the Party’s construction is closely related to the Party’s deflnition of the concept of'political construction',but with or without a clear statement,the political construction always runs through the process of the Party’s construction.Secondly,the Party’s political construction is closely related to the central task of the Party and the country,and correctly formulating and implementing the Party’s political line always plays an important role in the Party’s political construction.Thirdly,the effect of the Party’s political construction is closely related to the rightness of the Party’s leadership,and upholding the authority and the centralized leadership of the Central Committee has always remained the primary task of the Party’s political construction.
