Integration of New and Old and Form Reshaping:The Renovation and Expansion of Taiyuan Library

以太原市图书馆改扩建设计为例,摒弃了拆毁重建的常规更新思路,选用"新旧融合,形态重塑"的改造策略,对数量多、范围广的一般性旧建筑的改造性再利用进行了探索。在合理利用旧建筑的前提下,通过体量收分、空间织补、布局调整、功能补全、立面重塑等具体方法,使用新的建筑语言赋予旧建筑物崭新生命力,使之与周边建筑和城市环境产生共鸣。

This paper explores the reuse of the general old buildings which are of a great quantity and with a wide scope.It introduces the architectural renewal strategy of'integration of new and old and form reshaping'through the case of the renovation and expansion of Taiyuan Library.Under the premise of making reasonable use of the old buildings,the new architectural language is used to provide old buildings with new vitality,so as to resonate with the surrounding buildings and the urban environment.
