The Development of Machine Aesthetic

在相当长的时期内,西方经典美学将"机器"视为丑的化身。然而在近代,机器成功地完成一次由"丑"到"美"的华丽转身,这无疑与科技进步、工业革命以及资本主义商业文明大发展的历史背景有着深层次的关联。力图还原机器如何逐渐进入人们的审美视野,并逐步确立起相对稳定的价值标准的历史过程。

In a long historical period,western classical aesthetics recognized that machine is ugly.However,in modern society,it successfully converted from the ugly to the beautiful.It was undoubtedly related to the scientific and technological progress and the Industrial Revolution,and the great development of capitalist business culture.This paper tries to explore how the machine gradually came into people’s aesthetic vision and how a relatively stable standard of value was established in the historical process.
