The necessity of automatizing middle and low voltage distribution network is discussed in terms of social demand,the needs of power enterprise development and the state of the art in distribution network automation at home and abroad. With the comparison of different schemes for realizing the automatization,the programmable logic controller (PLC) scheme is proposed as a better choice and its specific realization expounded.
