Tests are indispensable in the teaching process. A good test can be used as a valuable teaching device. Reading is a major way of acquiring knowledge and it is one of the most important skills in English learning. Then how we can construct a good reading test is the focus for many language researchers. This paper discusses the communicative reading testing of college English and its backwash on teaching.
