难堪的中国造纸术

Embarrassed Chinese Papermaking Technique

在伦敦大英博物馆,有一个展柜是介绍中国古代科学与技术的。不过,中国的四大发明,在这里只提到了三个,惟独没有造纸术。去年,中国开始对韩、日等四国进行铜版纸反倾销调查。今年8月6日,铜版纸反倾销案终裁,中国铜版纸厂商胜诉。即使这样,对中国来说也是很大的难堪。因为第一张纸诞生在中国,国外的造纸术也学自中国。可到头来,中国高级文化用纸却要大量进口。

On August 6th of 2003, Chinese art paper manufactures were judged to win the case of art paper anti-dumping. In fact, China is still in an embarrassing situation. Anyway the first piece of paper was born in China and foreign countries learned papermaking technique from China. But eventually, China has to import a large amount of high quality paper from overseas.
