对贵州省贵阳市花溪镇等地的调查结果表明,在缺乏经济支撑的条件下,农村人口大规模涌入城市,不仅不能带动经济的发展,反而会导致地方经济空洞化,使财政背上沉重的包袱,给地方未来的发展蒙上巨大的阴影。贵州等西部地区应选择有经济支撑的城市化策略,而城市基础部门的发展应成为这一策略的核心。

The survey of such places as Huaxi Town, Guiyang, Guizhou indicates that without economic support, large-scale influx of rural population into cities cannot drive economic development, but hollow the regional economy, weighing down public finance and throwing a gloom over its future development. Western areas like Guizhou should choose the urbanization strategy with economic support, and the development of basic sectors in cities should become the core of the strategy.
