摘要
西尔维亚·普拉斯不像罗伯特·罗威尔那样长于表现历史,她的所长是神话。普拉斯赋予神话许多意义,其中之一是超越凡人的局限,达到永恒。她似乎有一种坚定的关于再生和超越的神话观念,即死亡是解脱和再生。
Unlike Robert Lowell, Sylvia Plath does not have a strong sense of history, but she is very much interested in mythology. She endows mythology with a lot of meanings. One of them is to overcome human limitations and obtain eternity. She firmly believes in the myth of rebirth and resurrection. For her, death means release and rebirth.
