摘要
英语独特的国际地位和它在世界各地的本土特征越来越引起学术界的广泛关注 ,从而开辟了英语研究的新领域 :“世界英语的研究”。本文从英语的不同称谓入手 ,梳理和分析自 2 0世纪 70年代以来世界各地学者对英语多元化现象的研究状况 ,评析研究的背景、内容和视角 。
The rapid and wide spread of English around the world in the past century brings the linguists and the language users a new field, which studies English in multiple local contexts of use. Thus English has become Englishes and a list of new names describing the multiplicity of the English language have come into being, such as world Englishes, new Englishes, international language, global language, English languages and so on. This article clarifies these names, presents and comments the study of the multiplicity of English in the academic world focusing on the study background, contents, and perspectives.
