A Discussion on Foreignization/Localization on the Dimensions of Culture and Language

最近 ,翻译界对归化和异化的讨论很多 ,散见于国内的各种外语类刊物 ,《中国翻译》2 0 0 2年第五期还专辟一专栏来讨论这一问题 ,这些文章大大推动了归化和异化的研究 ,但不少文章只是停留在语言研究的层面上 ,曲解了后殖民理论参照体系中的异化 /归化问题。本文采用比较的方法 。

There appeared a lot of discussions recently on the translation of foreignization and domestication in various journals in China, a column had been set aside for the special issue in Chinese Translators' Journal. These articles gave a push to the development of Chinese translation studies. However, many of the articles still remain on the linguistic level and can not fully account for the nature of the study of translation on foreignization and localization. This paper intends to discuss the problem from the different dimensions of cultural and language.
