摘要
大学是否应该把道德和公民教育作为一项教育目标?大学是否应该把某一种价值观或思想作为自己的教育立场?大学作为一个研究和探讨高深学问的机构,是否与道德和公民教育在某些方面相抵?这些对大学教育的拷问,是20世纪中期以来美国高等教育学术界争论的焦点。
This is a study of university moral and civil education on undergraduate level in the USA. Should university take moral and civil education as one of its missions? This is a question that has been argued for a long time even in America. This paper reviews both the arguments in American academic society and the history of moral and civil education transition in American colleges and universities. This study is conductively to reflect the present status of civil and moral education in Chinese colleges and universities.
