本期刊载的英外交部涉藏事务档案记载:英国批准"使团"向江孜推进,但一旦得到赔偿,便立即撤出。西藏政府备战,屯粮招兵,制造枪炮;后藏岗巴宗、江孜、日喀则一路有大队藏军。西藏地方寻求俄国道义上的援助,保护他们不受英国人侵犯;拉萨及近郊无俄国人。
United Kingdom approved'missions'to Gyangzê, but once the compensation was paid immedi-ately, the mission would withdraw. The Tibetan Government prepared food, recruit soldiers, and produce guns forwars; there were Tibetan armies in Tibetan gang Bazon, Gyantse, and Shigatse. Tibet tried to seek moral assis-tance from Russia to protect them from British; and no Russians on the outskirts of Lhasa.
