西藏民主改革前后,文学创作者们立足高原大地,紧跟时代步伐,揭露和批判旧西藏的落后、野蛮体制,书写发生在高原大地上的巨大变化,表达人民当家做主的喜悦之情,讴歌中国共产党和中国人民解放军团结各族人民和平解放西藏、建设社会主义新西藏的豪迈情怀、坚定信念和革命精神,表现出与时代同脉搏、与人民共命运的现实主义精神。改革开放之后的西藏当代文学秉持并进一步发扬了这种文学现实主义精神,继续关注和表现高原人民的现实生活和精神风貌,表现西藏经济社会发展取得的巨大成就,为西藏经济社会进步发展提供了强大的精神动力。
