塘山遗址是世界同时期最大的防水工程之一,它的主要作用是拦截良渚遗址北侧大遮山诸峰的山水,使遗址区免受北侧山体造成的洪灾。塘山遗址体现人类早期治水以堵为主的思路。

Tangshan site was one of the biggest water conservancy project in the world at that time.Its main function was to discourage floodwater from Dazheshan and protect th e Liangzhu site from the disaster.It reflected the thought o f water conservancy project of the an cient people.
