A Brief Study of the Difficulties in the Course of Peaceful Reunion in the Korean Peninsula

朝鲜半岛自分裂以来,国际社会和朝鲜半岛南北双方为实现统一进行了不懈的努力。2000年6月,南北首脑举行了历史性的会晤,使半岛的统一进程向前迈进了一大步。但到目前为止,朝鲜半岛南北双方在统一问题上的分歧依然存在,冷战的阴影仍然笼罩在半岛上空,双方军事对峙局面依然存在,国际社会有关国家十分看重本国在半岛地区的利益,再加上统一进程中的巨额经费开支,因而使半岛的统一困难重重。

Since the Korean Peninsula was divided, the world and the two parts in the Korean Peninsula have made persistent efforts for the reunion. In June 2000, the heads of the two parts in the Peninsula held a historical summit meeting, bringing a big leap for the reunion in the Peninsula. However, up till now, there have been great difference in the issue of reunion of the Peninsula and the shadow of the Cold War still covered the Peninsula. The relevant nations in the world attaches much importance to their interest in this area, and in addition the reunion needs a huge sum of expenditures, which makes it greatly difficult.
