On Generality and Speciality of Syntactic Ambiguity in English and Chinese Language

歧义普遍存在于自然语言中,句法歧义是歧义的一种。英汉句法歧义从其成因上看,既有共性,又有个性。其共性主要表现在五个方面,个性表现在四个方面。探讨句法歧义,有益于利用其积极的一面,避免和消除其消极的一面,也有助于揭示普遍语法的内在规律。

There is ambiguity phenomenon in natural language and syntactic ambiguity is one type of ambiguity. Comparing syntactic ambiguity in English and Chinese, there is speciality as well as generality in both languages, mainly embodying on five aspects in generality and four aspects in speciality. Making research on syntactic ambiguity is good to make use of positive ambiguity and to avoid negative ambiguity , it is also helpful to reveal intrinsic laws of universal grammar.
