20世纪最后一、二十年间,正处于新旧世纪(也是新老千年)更替的历史关头,世界电影的格局悄然发生着革命性的变化,亚洲电影的一代新人点燃了全球化空间里新的人文火种。笔者把这种现象归结为亚洲电影的“世纪性风潮”之变。本文所着重论述的,正是从这种“世纪性风潮”之变中破土而出的亚洲“新电影”。就此,我们将探讨:亚洲新电影是在怎样的一种跨文化语境中生长的,亚洲新电影的不同电影产业环境,作品的地域色彩、民族/民俗风情及其电影诗学个性,亚洲新电影如何与好莱坞共舞等等。相信这些问题在当下全球化空间里是具有一定文化启示性的。

During the last twenty years of the 20th C entury, the structure of global cinema has revolutionary changed. So-called Asian ″Ne w Cinema″ phenomenon emerged during the per iod. This article will discuss the trans-cu ltural context, various industry environme nts, geographical color, folk color, poeti c personality of these Asian New Cinema and explore how Asian New Cinema co-dance with Hollywood. The discussion of all the questi ons will be enlightening in present globali zation context.
