摘要
春柳剧场以新剧形式出现在近代上海,给上海戏剧界带来现代的概念;然而,春柳派“日化”或“西化”的艺术原则与一般上海市民的口味犯冲,遭受到冷遇。在惨淡经营三年后,春柳派终于解散。
Chun - Liu She (Springtime Willow Troupe) put on new plays in Shanghai and created a great sensation in theatrical circles there at the beginning of the twentieth century. However, the artistic principle of westernization or Japanization adhered to by Chun-Liu She was found to be in conflict with the esthetic taste of the audience there. It took less than three years before Chun-Liu She disbanded itself and the cause it contrived so painstakingly ended.
