摘要
As a result of a former opinion in academia, the first foreign bank in China was The Oriental Bank set up in 1845, and its issuance of the Hong Kong Banknote was the first foreign banknote used in China. But from the new finding of a banknote issued by the Canton Bank in 1819, the author believed that this was the banknote first used in China or issued by foreign bank.
