透视语境看后置修饰语照应的游离性

On the Wandering Quality of Postmodifiers′ Reference in Perspective of Context

英汉语序表述有别。英语中后置修饰语要与所修饰的中心词形成准确的照应关系。因受多种因素的影响 ,后置修饰语所修饰的对象具有不确定的游移性。本文就语境、语法、逻辑等方面剖析该现象给译者所带来的理解上的种种“误区” ,并寻求相应的对策。

English and Chinese have their different peculiar word orders to convey informations. The postmodifiers are supposed to have a reference to their headwords. The headwords modifiied by their postmodifiers are subject to their contexts, grammatical structures and logic understandings. This paper makes some efforts to inquire into the phenomenon of its uncertainty and wandering and to find out some countermeasures .
