苏联在社会主义建设中发生了严重环境问题,苏维埃政府为此颁布了一系列环境保护的法律政策。由于社会主义和现代工业文明固有的弱点造成的环境问题愈演愈烈,苏联的环境政策归于失败。苏联环境主义运动的发展逐渐演变成了推翻苏共统治和促使苏联解体的力量。苏联社会主义制度和环境破坏与保护是相互作用的复杂关系。

The Soviet Union caused so serious environmental problems in socialist construction that Soviet government was compelled to enact a series of statutes and policies to protect the environment. Those weaknesses inherent in Soviet socialist system and modern industrial civilization were responsible for increasingly grave environmental problems and failure of environment protection policies. As a result, environmentalist movement grew steadily in Soviet Union and finally turned into the force to overthrow the Soviet Communist government and send the Soviet Union disintegrated. Therefore, Soviet socialist system had interactive and complex connections with its destruction and protection of environment.
