摘要
矛盾修辞法是英语中常见的一种表达法 ,它以非常经济的文字表达十分丰富的思想内容。小说《爱情故事》成功地使用了这种方法。按功能划分 ,可归纳为四类 :夸张格、移就格、比喻格和曲言格。
Oxymoron is one of the most effective rhetorical devices used in English.It can bear a great deal of information with most economical words.One of the American best sellers Love Story sets a good example in this aspect with four forms:hyperbole,transferred epithet,simile and litotes.
