党的十六大第一次把“三个代表”重要思想写进党章作为党的指导思想。报告精辟概括了十三年来党领导人民建设有中国特色社会主义必须坚持的十条基本经验;精心谋划了经济改革思路;深刻论述了社会主义政治文明的基本方向和根本任务;着眼于世界科学文化前沿,强调要以创新的姿态加强社会主义精神文明建设;在和平与发展的时代主题下,单极与多极的矛盾、称霸与反称霸的斗争,将成为21世纪相当长时期内国际斗争的焦点;面对国际国内的复杂形势和艰巨任务,必须毫不动摇地加强和改进党的领导,全面推进党的建设新的伟大工程。

As guiding ideology of the Party,the import an t thought of″three-represents″has been in-cluded in the constitution of CP C.The report generalized ten basic experiences that the People of China must up hold under the leadership of the Party to build socialism with Chinese character istics.It also schemed elaborately for the though of economic reform,while dis cussed the basic direction and fundamental task of socialist political civilizat ion profoundly.Viewing from the angle of the advanced scientific culture in the world,the party stressed to strengthen the construction of socialist spiritual civilization,and then,had the theme of times of peace and development in mi nd.The report showed that the contradiction be-tween single pole and multi-po le,and the struggle between hegemony and anti-hegemony will be focused on inte rnationally over along period of time in the21st century.At last,facing th e complex situation and hard task domestically and internationally,it suggested that it is imperative to strengthen and improve the leadership of the Party,so as to carry the party construction to a new stage in an all-round way.
