From the concept of the CIMS(ComputerIntegrated Manufacturing System),thispaper first introduces step by step theconstitution of it,the Communicationnetwork in CIMS environment,then thebasic content,topology structure and theconstitution manners of the protocol MAP/3.0(Manufacturing Automation protocol/3.0)of the newest version.At last,it stillillustrates the research status quo anddevelopment tendency.
